Dr Kouris was born and raised in Athens, Greece
After successfully passing his Pan-Hellenic National Exams he was admitted to the Dental School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he obtained his DipDS degree in 1998 with First Class Honors. He then continued to serve in the National Air Force having a post as a Dentist in 251 General Air Force Hospital and later on at the General Air Force Command in Athens.
From 2001 until 2004 he worked as a general dental practitioner and then moved to London to start his three-year specialist course in Periodontology at the Queen Mary University of London. He was based during that time at the renowned Royal London Hospital where he provided patients with treatment covering all aspects of Periodontology as well as Dental Implants and Grafting Procedures. As part of his training he was involved in research project focusing on the examining mechanisms involved in stem cells that may allow us to heal bone defects. He graduated in 2008 with an overall mark “Distinction”
He attained a post as a Clinical Lecturer in Periodontology at the same University, where he undertook the training of dental students in the respective fields. He organised and presented several seminars under the approval and accreditation of GDC on the fields of Tissue Regeneration and General Periodontology
He has worked as an Associate in many Specialist Referral Clinics in London, providing patients with treatments in the Field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
Since 2009 he is owner and principal dentist of a specialist practice in Marousi, where he focuses exclusively in offering exclusively treatment in the fields of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Currently he is a PhD Candidate of the Department of Periodontology of a The Dental School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, exploring the relationship between Periodontal Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease.
He has attended many conferences and seminars in Greece and around the world and has published both research articles and public interest reviews in scientific journals.
